According to multiple outlets, Harris is set to take the state and secured the win, garnering 10 electoral votes in what is expected to be a tightly contested race.

Democrats winning the Old Line State is nothing new, with former President Joe Biden overwhelmingly claimed in the 2020 election.

Trump has failed to garner more than 35 percent of the vote in Maryland in the past two elections, according to NBC News, and the last to turn the state red was George H.W. Bush in 1988.

Polls in Maryland closed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Now the state awaits the conclusion of the race for US Senate between former Gov. Larry Hogan and Prince George's County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, which could have an impact on which side of the aisle the Senate lands.

Election Night coverage will continue throughout the evening.
